Caring for your No-Chip Manicure - top tips!

So, you’ve had your beautiful Hepburns No-Chip Manicure and your nails are looking fabulous! Now all you need are some handy tips and tricks to prolong your manicure and keep those nails looking awesome! Follow this aftercare advice and your manicure will give you up to 3 weeks of chip-free colour.

Almond oil is your new best friend!

Every few hours (or when you remember!) massage a small amount of almond oil into your cuticles and the surrounding area to keep them soft and hydrated. This nourishing oil does the job of a hand cream and cuticle oil all in one, and you can pick up a bottle for as little as £2!

File after 1-2 weeks

Remember and file your nails after 1-2 weeks. Keep them short (just up to your fingertip or shorter) to avoid the risk of snagging, breaking or ripping the nail whilst rummaging in your handbag! We’ve all been there…

Slip on your Marigolds!

Pop on a pair of gloves when doing the washing up. This will protect the nail and stop any moisture from damaging your manicure. If possible try and avoid immersing your hands in water for long periods of time, this will help reduce the risk of the No-Chip polish peeling and/or lifting. During our nail treatments we avoid using creams and lotions as they can interfere with the adhesion of the No-Chip polish.

Clear Topcoat

Apply a clear topcoat in between treatments. Monthly No-Chip Manicures are recommended to keep your colour fresh, however a quick coat of clear polish will add some shine to tide you over!

Fancy a change?

You can paint over your No-Chip Manicure with regular polish if you fancy changing your colour. Just remove with normal non-acetone nail polish remover - leaving your No-Chip manicure perfect underneath!

Manicure Removal

To remove your manicure you will need 100% Acetone (sold in our salons). Dampen a piece of cotton wool with the Acetone, place it over the nail and wrap tightly with foil. Wait for 15-20mins then carefully remove. Or why not pop back in and see us - we’ll do all the hard work for you!
